A Small Town Christmas Parade

Banner Elk’s annual Christmas parade is a fun-filled slice of small-town Americana. People light everything from floats to vehicles to pets to themselves and enjoy a festive jaunt down Main Street.
The parade is presented by the Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce. Parade participants compete to win the Edgar Award of Excellence, named after Rev. Edgar Tufts, who played a vital role in the early development of the Banner Elk community.
Immediately following the parade, head over to the green in front of the Historic Banner Elk School for train rides, holiday lights and visits with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
