Banner Elk Christmas Tree Lighting

Get in the holiday spirit with the lighting of Banner Elk’s official town Christmas tree. This free event takes place at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, at the Corner On Main Park in the heart of town.

The festivities include caroling, hot chocolate and a countdown to the lighting of the tree, which is provided by Elk River Evergreens, a nearby Christmas tree farm.

This event kicks off the annual “A Small Town Christmas” weekend in Banner Elk and is followed at 7 p.m. by a holiday song-and-dance revue from Ensemble Stage, which is walking distance from the tree lighting. Tickets required for the 7 p.m. holiday show.
