A romantic comedy takes the stage this August in Banner Elk.
Alive and Well tickles the funny bone as Carla, a big-city reporter from the North encounters Zach, a roguish Southern tracker and Civil War re-enactor, and realizes she must work with Zach in order to research her story. However, in the spirit of The African Queen and Romancing the Stone, they discover oil and water can mix.
It’s a fun, entertaining joyride that will make even the strongest skeptics believe in true love.
The play is part of Ensemble Stage’s 2025 Mainstage Season. It can also be enjoyed as part of Banner Elk’s theater packages that include one or two nights of lodging, two show tickets, discount dining and breakfast the next morning.
