Sugar Mountain Resort brings a taste of Bavaria to North Carolina’s High Country each fall with its Oktoberfest celebration.
Festival goers enjoy beautiful fall foliage, cool mountain temperatures, and a weekend full of family fun activities. Admission, parking and shuttle service are free.
The Harbour Towne Fest Band, which has performed at the event for more than two decades, once again brings the sounds of Bavaria to Sugar Mountain. Sing along to beer-toasting tunes while bratwurst, knockwurst, sauerkraut, strudel, pretzels, hot dogs, hamburgers, soda and other festive foods delight your appetite. And of course, Bavaria’s Spaten Oktoberfest beer flows abundantly.
Hayrides, corn hole, bounce houses, pumpkin bowling, water balloon tossing, and fun times with Sugar and Sweetie Bear entertain the kids. Guests of every age can enjoy a ride on the Summit Express chairlift. Everyone is encouraged to don a dirndl or lederhosen for the Saturday afternoon Bavarian costume contest.
Admission, parking and shuttle service are free. The festival takes place rain or shine.
